One of the largest and heaviest asteroids hovering in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, Juno spans 150 miles in width. It orbits the Sun with thousands of other bits of space rock and essential is a leftover building block of the Solar System. Like other asteroids it is misshapen rather than round and its heavy metallic surface has been churned up by constant impacts. Glass Eye artists captured this view – a rare crystal clear look at Juno’s surface so rough and so very far away.
