For the successful candidate, the Leadership Development Program offers an outstanding opportunity to gain broad-based, multi-functional business management experience in a professionally managed, investor-backed entrepreneurial organization. ABOUT THE COMPANY: Made In Washington is the premier specialty retailer focused on artisan gifts from Washington state. Made In Washington began in 1984 at Pike Place Market, and today has stores in major malls throughout the Puget Sound region and a high growth online and catalog business. The company is professionally managed, and funded by a small group of Northwest investors.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The successful candidate will go through a hands-on rotation in all key areas of the Made In Washington business: store management, buying/merchandising, operations/distribution and web/catalog marketing, providing the individual with the opportunity to work in a variety of roles and to learn from different management styles. After successful completion of the program, the candidate will be assigned to a position best matching the needs of the business and the individual.

RESPONSIBILITIES: In each functional area through which the candidate rotates (store management, buying/merchandising, operations/distribution and web/catalog marketing), responsibilities will include special projects as well as ongoing functional priorities. This mix will provide an opportunity to have an immediate impact across many areas of the business.

REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with strong leadership skills, maturity and a demonstrated record of achievement in academics, extra curricular activities and/or work experience. Undergraduate study in business administration is desirable, but most important are the individuals talents, attitudes and having a record of success.

TRAINING: The nature of this position, with its rotation through every key functional area of the business, is one of training and development. What makes the position unusual --- and particularly attractive --- compared to other leadership training programs is the focus on putting the employee in roles in which they can immediately contribute and have an impact on the business.

Made In Washington is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to join our great team.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Assistant Manager aids the Store Manager by leading the sales team in "Wowing" our customers and making sales and profitability goals. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Manager on store functions and operations. This includes training and hiring sales associates, serving customers with excellence, ringing sales, merchandising, placing orders, scheduling, stocking and receiving product from our distribution center, collaborating with other stores to grow sales, fulfilling store transfer requests, managing store inventories, and other ongoing functions necessary to the smooth operation of the business.

REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with strong leadership skills, maturity and a demonstrated record of achievement. An outstanding customer service orientation is a must, as is the desire to work in a team environment. Prior experience in retail is a plus, but more importantly is the candidate's leadership and problem solving abilities.

Made In Washington is seeking enthusiastic Sales Associates to join our great team at our Westlake Center, Pike Place Market, Bellevue Square, Alderwood, and Southcenter stores.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Sales Associate's role is to WOW our customers by serving our customers with excellence, identifying customer needs to find the products customers seek, keeping the store looking great, and helping with inventory management. Through various training, the Associate gains an in-depth knowledge of our products and the stories that make these artisan products unique. The Associate also loves working in a team environment and is flexible to help the team succeed.
